Client goal

The stock BMW 116d F20 with 116 HP had a noticeably restricted 2.0D engine potential. The goal was to enhance driving dynamics, throttle response, and flexibility for everyday use without random or aggressive parameter increases.

Work done

Performed pre-tuning diagnostics, checked engine parameters, and recorded dynamic logs. Then developed a custom Stage 1 calibration for the 2.0D unit. After flashing, conducted post-tuning diagnostics, rechecked parameters, and measured Dragy 0–100 km/h times.

Result

After the upgrade, the BMW 116d F20 delivers about 190 HP and 400 Nm. The car is significantly quicker, pulls stronger from low revs, and responds much better to the throttle. Dragy 0–100 km/h improved by 4.05 s, from 12.30 s to 8.25 s.

Case details

In this BMW 116d F20, Stage 1 unlocked the large untapped potential of the factory-limited 2.0D engine. The upgrade was custom-tuned with full diagnostics and engine parameter monitoring before and after flashing. The result is clearly noticeable in daily driving: sharper throttle response, stronger low-end pull, smoother overtaking, and better harmony with the automatic transmission. The improvement was confirmed by a Dragy run under real road conditions.
